From Coffee to Women’s Work: A Full Circle Moment🌀🦋
Before I began guiding women’s work, I spent almost 10 years in the world of coffee: behind the bar as a barista, training others, writing as a coffee blogger, and creating through my YouTube channel The Exploring Barista. Back in 2018, I had the honor of being featured in SOLO, a bilingual coffee magazine from Spain, in an article with five other women. The title of that piece was simply: WOMEN.
Fast forward to now, after stepping into women’s work in 2021, and I find myself once again in print, this time in PS Parool, the weekend magazine of the Dutch newspaper Het Parool. I am deeply honored to be featured alongside four other women’s circle facilitators in Amsterdam.
It feels extra special because of this full circle moment: the first time I appeared in a magazine, it was together with other women, speaking about women in coffee. And now, years later, I am once again standing beside women, this time not around coffee but around something even closer to my heart: women’s circles.
Coming together as women is something ancient, something sacred, and something I believe we are being called to remember as normal again. I am grateful to see this work reaching a wider audience and to be part of a growing movement that makes women’s gatherings more visible and accessible.
A big thank you to Marjolein van Damme for creating this article and shining light on women’s circles in the Netherlands.
Below you can find the photos of both articles, one from 2018 and one from last weekend. Two very different moments in my journey, yet both deeply connected.
